THE MATA QUARTET
Winners of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Mabel Glover String Quartet prize play Haydn and Shostakovich to open our season. Michelle Dierx (violin), Alex Webber-Garcia (violin), Thomas Kettle (viola), and Alasdair Morton-Teng (cello).

SUSAN TOMES (Piano) Lecture Recital
The wonderful Susan Tomes returns to Westbourne for a unique lecture recital. Music includes Schubert's Moment Musical no.1 in C major followed by a short talk about his late A major Sonata, which will then be performed in its entirety. This is a wonderful chance to hear our world class piano in action.

ROYAL CONSERVATOIRE OPERA RECITAL - LIBERTÉ
Join the Alexander Gibson Opera School from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in the first of three concerts throughout our season commemorating the 230th anniversary of the French Revolution and exploring the themes of Liberty, Equality, and Friendship.

BETH TAYLOR (Mezzo) and SASHA SAVALONI (Guitar)
Beth Taylor is enjoying a tremendous start to her career. Engagements in 2019 will lead the young Scottish mezzo-soprano to Aix-en-Provence, Florance, Opéra de Lyon, and Opéra de Lorraine in 2020 as bradamante in Alcina. She will be joined by Sasha Savaloni who is currently completing a Doctorate of Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and St Andrew's University researching guitar transcriptions of German song. The programme will include works by Dowland, Rossini, Bellini, Schubert, and Maxwell-Davis. This concert is supported by Michael Wilson and the 'Glasgow Culture Vultures'.

THE BRODSKY QUARTET
We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming the world famous Brodsky Quartet to Westbourne this season. The quartet will play Beethoven String Quartet Op. 135 and the Elgar String Quartet. A concert not to be missed, this performance is kindly made possibly by the generous support of Mr Stewart MacKay

Tickets for this concert will incur a £2 premium to support this performance. This does not affect season ticket holders.

THE KAPTEN TRIO
As part of the EMS Subsidised Tour the Kapten Trio will be performing at Westbourne. Kristi Kapten is a prize-winning Estonian pianist. The Kapten Trio is made up of three outstanding graduates of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, and Oxford University. The trio formed in 2011 whilst students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where they were chosen as Young Artists in Residence.

BACH TO BRITTEN
Swedish cellist Victor Nekludov read his undergraduate degree at the Stockholm Royal College of Music with Elemèr Lavotha, and a masters degree with Robert Irvine at the RCS. Victor has also worked in masterclasses with Thorleif Thedèen, Natalie Clein, and Ralph Kirschbaum among others. The concert programme will be built around Bach's Cello Suite number 3 and Britten's Cello Suite number 3.

JAMES GILCHRIST AND ANNA TILBROOK
This wonderful duo returns to Westbourne to perform another great song cycle by Schubert, Die Schöne Müllerin. Following the great success of their performance of Winterreise this promises to be a superb chance to hear these musicians in action. This concert is kindly made possible by the generous support of Mrs Ailene Hunter.

CHANGE - GENOVIA QUARTET
Due to family circumstances, we regret to that Paul Livingston is not available for this performance. We are indebted to the Genovia Quartet for agreeing to provide a programme. Genovia Quartet are recent graduates from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, coming together to perform arrangements from throughout the Classical canon as a bassoon quartet. This engaging and entertaining performance is not one to be missed.

ROSS MONTGOMERY and ANTONIO OYARZABAL - SCHUMANN TO DEBUSSY
Scottish Clarinettist Ross Montgomery returns to Westbourne Music with Spanish pianist Antonio Oyarzabal. Ross is currently on trial with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and is a recent Royal Philharmonic Society award recipient. He studies with Pascal Moragues in Paris.

ROYAL CONSERVATOIRE OPERA RECITAL - ÉGALITÉ
In this second concert marking the 230th anniversary of the French Revolution, members of the Alexander Gibson Opera Studio will take you on a curated journey through the theme of Equality in all its forms. With a wide selection of repertoire, and operatic excerpts from fresh, new talent, this is a performance not to be missed.

ETHEROW REEDS (clarinet quartet)
Clarinet Quartet Etherow Reeds will play a programme that includes the Fantasy from Carmen, Gershwin's The Man I Love, Mozart's Gran Partita, and much more. Etherow Reeds was formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in September 2017. The group is made up of clarinettists Ruaridh Bakke, Andy Mellor, Katherine Blumer, and William Curran, all brought together by a love of chamber music.

KATHERINE BRYAN (flute) and EDWARD COHEN (piano)
At the age of 21, Katherine Bryan was appointed Principal Flute with the RSNO, a position she holds today in addition to appearing as a concerto soloist with leading orchestras worldwide. Edward Cohen has established himself as one of the most versatile and in demand pianists in Scotland, and he collaborates regularly with leading musicians in major performance venues and festivals. Both lecturers at the RCS, together the duo have given recitals across Scotland and have been featured on BBC Radio and Classic FM. This concert is generously supported by Raymond and Brenda Williamson.

ROYAL CONSERVATOIRE OPERA RECITAL - FRATERNITÉ
In the finale of our vocal showcase triptych, students from the Vocal Studies Department of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland will be delving into the brotherhood of humankind in a celebration of friendship. This curated performance will showcase the best of up and coming vocal talent in Scotland, and is not to be missed.

RYAN CORBETT (accordion)
Superbly talented 20 year old accordinist Ryan is taking Glasgow by storm. This concert will consist of transcriptions of Baroque keyboard works, European contemporary music, and repertoire from the 20th century Russian accordion school.

Our world class resident string quartet returns to Westbourne once again. We are delighted that this quartet calls Westbourne its Glasgow home.

THE WALLACE COLLECTION (brass)
The brilliant Wallace Collection, led by the one and only John Wallace, come to Westbourne with their Intimate Breezes programme. This brass chamber concert is inspired by the inventions of the steam age. This concert is generously supported by Raymond and Brenda Williamson.

MAYA IWABUCHI
